Solway Lass is one of Australia’s most famous Tall Ships and offers a two day/two night adventure around the beautiful Whitsunday Islands.
She was built in Martenshoek, The Netherlands in 1902 and first registered in Hamburg Germany. At over a century old, she has experienced many an adventure on her way to the Whitsundays.
Solway Lass is beautifully maintained and features all the modern comforts including air conditioning. She also offers a choice of shared or private cabins, some with ensuites.
The large decks on Solway Lass provide guests with plenty of room to move about and for those who would like a “hands on” sailing trip, guests are invited to join in hoisting the sails and have a turn sailing Solway Lass.
Or you may prefer to just find you own deck space to sunbathe or relax and take in the magnificent views of the islands, as you sail by Whitehaven Beach, Hayman Island, Hook Island, Hill Inlet and Nara Inlet.
Snorkel over beautiful fringing reef, try a stand up paddle board, or dive into the turquoise waters via the tarzan swing rope.
At the end of the day, enjoy a cocktail or icy cold drink from the full licenced bar and watch the sunset over the Whitsundays.

You will need to check-in for Solway Lass at least the day before departure. Your check-in information will be provided to you when you book your tour with us. At the check-in you will pay any outstanding balances and receive your boarding pass. You will also have a comprehensive briefing detailing what to bring on your trip and where and when to meet the crew.
Check your boarding pass and be at Coral Sea Marina by the meeting time. Please don’t be late!
Solway Lass will depart Airlie Beach and sail directly to a sheltered overnight anchorage in the beautiful Whitsunday Islands, taking in the sunset on the way.
Then spend the next two days with no set itinerary, but just sailing around the islands at the will of the wind and tides. Your skipper will choose the best snorkelling locations around the islands based on the conditions to make sure you get the most out of your snorkelling experience.
You’ll also visit Whitehaven Beach and take a guided bushwalk to the Hill Inlet Lookout to take in the spectacular views of the famous swirling sands.
You may also take in some other island bushwalks or spend time on remote and secluded beaches where you can relax, snorkel or try the stand up paddle board.
At night, you will always anchor in a sheltered bay so you can enjoy a smooth, restful night watching the stars and enjoying the company of your fellow guests and crew.
After lunch on your final day, you’ll start making your way back to port, taking in the beautiful sights of the islands and some wonderful memories to take home with you!
