Each Ocean Rafting day offers three days in one, including an exhilarating ride to Hill Inlet, pristine Whitsundays snorkelling reefs and guided Whitsunday Island National Parks walks.
The Northern Exposure eco adventure is a favourite amongst avid snorkelers because it is a Whitsunday adventure which includes two different snorkel destinations. Enjoy snorkelling around Hook Island including Mantaray Bay, Maureens Cove and other specially selected Whitsundays snorkelling spots, ensuring a memorable underwater experience.
The tour also includes a visit to the stunning beach at Hill Inlet and a guided National Park walk to Hill Inlet lookout above the swirling silica sands that Hill Inlet is famous for. We are the only tour to have direct access to Hill Inlet beaches, where you can explore, enjoy an optional picnic style lunch served at the inlet and swim in the crystal clear turquoise ocean or just relax on the silica white sand. Small groups allow you to experience this tropical paradise away from the crowds.

Check your ticket. Your pick location and time are on your ticket. Please don’t be late.
Enjoy a leisurely drive through town as we pick up your fellow passengers.
You will be taken to the Ocean Rafting office to complete your check in. Here you will be introduced to your crew and escorted to your vessel.
The vessels are up to 12 metre semi-rigid inflatable vessels, originally designed and built as rescue crafts and are driven by 500hp engines. After settling down on board your crew will crank up the engines and, while leaving the Port, your crew will familiarise you with the vessels layout and safety features. Once outside the Port, it’s full throttle so sit back, relax and experience a fun, high speed ride amongst the natural beauty of the Whitsundays.
Once anchored at your snorkelling site the crew will give you a snorkelling safety briefing, fit you with your snorkelling gear then it’s into the warm waters (average yearly water temp 26c) to explore the coral and swim with the tropical fish and maybe a turtle. Cant swim well… no worries. Your crew will fit you out with either a buoyancy vest or other flotation device to enjoy snorkelling the Whitsundays fringing reefs.
Leaving our snorkel site it’s a short trip to Hill Inlet. Explore the swirling sands of Hill Inlet and take a leisurely walk through sub tropical rain forests to the famous Hill Inlet lookout. Great selfie and photo opportunities here. Spend up to 2 hours shallow clear waters of Hill Inlet. Take a bush walk, swim in the crystal clear waters or just laze around on the white silica sands. Enjoy our Tropical picnic Style lunch with plenty of choice for all tastes.
Wash the sand off your feet, settle down on board, grab your favourite drink and some afternoon tea cake and get ready for your 50 minute ride around the Whitsunday Islands as they make our way back to Port. Whether they go through Solway Pass or the Hook Island Passage, the views of the Islands are breathtaking. On arrival to the Port they will escort you to your courtesy bus to take you back to your accommodation to look back on a great day out with Ocean Rafting.
