Tour Details
British Defender is a modern maxi-sailing yacht. She was purpose-built to sail around the world so you will enjoy a spacious interior with amenities such as air conditioning. Her huge deck provides ample room to get to know your fellow passengers or soak up some sun.
Learn to hoist and trim the sails and a bit of sailing language, or sit back and enjoy the speed at which you will race through the Whitsundays.

All items taken on board should be packed in a small soft bag with no zippers.
- British Defender has a BYO policy for all soft and alcoholic beverages (No Glass or Red wine). No drinks are for sale on board, so don’t forget to bring what you’d like to drink.

Important Notes
- Guests are required to reconfirm their booking with Whitsunday Sailing Adventures no later than 72 hours before the tour departure time.
- Closer to the departure of your tour, you will receive an email with instructions on how to complete your waiver. We require each guest to fill this out no later than 48 hours before the tour departure time.
- Dietary requirements Vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, gluten-free, dairy/lactose-free can be catered for. Vegan, gluten-free and dairy/lactose-free will incur a $10.00 (per night) surcharge payable on check-in. Please note, that we are unable to accommodate Halal and Kosher requirements.
- Please note that guests must be 16 years old or older to travel. Guests under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult guardian.
- Check-in online the day before departure: We will advise you of your check-in details when your booking is confirmed.
- Personal items taken on board should be packed in a small soft bag with NO zippers. Suitcases and zippered bags are not allowed on board.
- Destinations are weather and tide permitting.
Itinerary
Check In! Let’s get the paperwork out of the way
You will need to check-in for British Defender at least the day before departure. Your check-in information will be provided to you when you book your tour with us. At the check-in you will pay any outstanding balances and receive your boarding pass. You will also have a comprehensive briefing detailing what to bring on your trip and where and when to meet the crew.
It’s Tour Day! Check your boarding pass and that you have everything you need.

Let’s Go! Your Whitsunday adventure begins!
British Defender will depart Airlie Beach and set sail for the Whitsunday Islands. With no set itinerary, your skipper is free to take you to the best spots for the wind and tides.
You’ll stop to snorkel over beautiful fringing reef, amongst hundreds of colourful fish of all varieties and perhaps even a turtle!
You’ll take a walk to Hill Inlet Lookout where you can take in the stunning views of Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet’s famous swirling sands, as well as spending time on the beach to explore, swim or take in the sun with a good book.
In the evening, your skipper will find a calm anchorage so you can enjoy a restful night’s sleep after an action packed day. Unwind and watch the sunset with new friends and a glass of wine, while your hosts prepare a hearty meal for you.
The next day, get up early, watch the sunrise and enjoy some breakfast before heading off for another day full of new adventures, followed by another night under the stars.
After a morning snorkel, you’ll start making your way back to port, taking in the beautiful sights of the islands and building some wonderful memories to take home with you!
