Bredl’s Wildlife – Hands-On Australian Wildlife Experience

Bredl’s Wildlife offers a truly unique hands-on Australian wildlife experience set in the stunning Whitsundays and Mackay countryside. The Bredl family warmly invite you onto their 175-acre private wildlife property, nestled in natural bushland and centred around a picturesque dam.

With roots in the zoo industry dating back to 1956, the Bredl family bring decades of passion, experience and knowledge to every tour. Guests are taken on a fully guided, personal journey across the property, learning about the animals, the land and the family’s lifelong dedication to wildlife care and conservation.

Home to a diverse range of Australian native wildlife and exotic species, Bredl’s Wildlife offers unforgettable close-up encounters. Handle animals such as snakes, lizards and baby crocodiles, hand-feed kangaroos, emus and cassowaries, and enjoy a special cuddle with a beautiful koala. A highlight of the experience is witnessing the farm’s large resident saltwater crocodiles being hand fed, an awe-inspiring moment you won’t forget.

Our visit to Bredl’s Wildlife was fantastic! Set in the heart of the Australian countryside, the experience felt truly authentic from the moment we arrived.

The staff were exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming – you can tell they genuinely care about what they do. They took the time to answer questions, share stories, and make sure everyone felt comfortable and included.

The highlight was the close encounters with the animals. From cuddling koalas to feeding kangaroos and watching crocs up close, every moment was special. What really stood out was how well cared for the animals are – it’s clear they are loved and respected, and that their welfare is the top priority.

This is a must-do experience for anyone wanting to see and learn about Australian wildlife. We made special memories to take home to Scotland. Highly recommended!

I am Australian and my wife is American. My wife loves holding Koala’s and feeding Kangaroo’s. If you want to know about Crocodiles, Wombats, snakes, wombats, koalas, Kangaroos. This is by far best place in Australia to learn about animals and to hold and feed them. You hold and interact with the animals more than any other zoo I have taken my wife too. The staff are family orientated and spent their life growing up with the animals. You will not find a better place or money for value. I highly recommend this to everyone.
