Escape the crowds and discover the reef up close at our exclusive Bait Reef mooring, the closest of the outer reef sites to the Whitsundays. Our dedicated snorkel guides are with you every step of the way, offering help with equipment, sharing snorkelling tips, and joining you in the water on safety boards to ensure a fun and safe experience for all.

What To Bring

Swimwear: Wear it under your clothes – you’ll be snorkelling at multiple reef sites.

Towel: For drying off between snorkel stops.

Sunscreen: Reef-safe only (no aerosols, please). Apply before you board.

Hat: A wide-brimmed or secure cap that won’t blow off in the wind.

Sunglasses: Polarised if you have them – the water’s bright!

Light jacket or windbreaker: Especially during winter months or on the trip home.

Camera or GoPro: Capture the reef and the beautiful Whitsunday views (make sure it’s waterproof or has a case).

Reusable water bottle: You can refill onboard.

Cash or card: For drinks, souvenirs, or photos onboard.

Small bag: Bring a soft backpack or dry bag to keep things together.
Additional Information
PLEASE NOTE: Tour departs Shute Harbour Terminal at 6.45am – you MUST check in for 6.15am.
You must be confident in the water and be able to swim to participate.
This tour is recommended for children 5 years and over. Children under 5 years are welcome, however there are limitations with regards to their participation please contact our reservations team for details when booking. Please advise dietary requirements at time of booking.
Itinerary
Departure from Shute Harbour Marine Terminal and head for Hamilton Island
Board the premium custom-built snorkel vessel. Enjoy light commentary from your crew as you cruise toward Bait Reef, the closest of the outer reef locations. (This tour will collect guest also staying at Hamilton Island)
Arrive at Reef & Snorkel Session #1
Begin your first snorkel experience in one of the reef locations at Bait Reef. Your snorkelling guides will offer in-water support, assist with equipment, and highlight marine life.
Buffet Lunch & Relaxation
Return to the vessel for a nutritious, buffet style lunch. Take a break, relax on deck, or simply soak up the reef views.
Snorkel Session #2
Explore a second reef location. Continue snorkelling, exploring coral gardens or relaxing on the platform between sessions.
Return Cruise toward Hamilton Island
Depart the reef and begin the return journey. Enjoy the scenery of the Whitsundays, and listen to commentary on the islands and marine ecology.
Arrive back at Hamilton Island
Disembark having experienced two vivid snorkelling sites, reef life, and a memorable day on the Great Barrier Reef. ( Guest staying at Hamilton Island will ONLY get off here)
